This week, EWB was happy to donate food hamper packages and masks, for the volunteers of the Red Cross that have been helping the medical staff at the Kasane and Kazangula clinics during the Covid-19 lock down. Earlier in the week, we received a call from the volunteer coordinator, Mr. Karabo Leselwa requesting our assistance to help provide for volunteers, that otherwise receive no payment for their generous services to the community.
Like so many others around the world, Covid-19 has had negative effects on local communities and during this uncertain time, we all need to pull together and assist each other.
EWB has been proud to assist our home village of Kazangula and the local communities of Chobe District by engaging in and supporting community initiatives and special events, also through our environmental education and wildlife-conflict mitigation programs. We are committed to doing our part, when we can to assist the communities during this challenging time and in the future.
The volunteers were extremely grateful and thanked EWB with a special salute for our support (and we love it!)
