Southern Africa is burning, areas in Namibia, Zambia, Angola and Botswana are up in flames. The region is now subject to some of the highest levels of biomass burning in the world… our collared elephants moved in relation to the fires.

Deploying collars on elephants is quite an event, perhaps one could say a production. Exciting… my adrenalin was high as we made our approach, spotting a bachelor herd of 8 elephants in the shade of a tree

The EWB team has set out to look along the waters to see where elephants may be found… we had never seen the Boteti river flowing as it is and it seemed to bring a welcoming ambiance to its surroundings.

whole herds of elephants surrounded, circled and examined the body… one can almost understand the sorrow and anguish they look to be feeling.

There is nothing like sleeping in the fresh Africa air, without a tent. The smells and sounds are intoxicating!

we saw a flash of white that made us blink more than twice. We could not believe what we were seeing! Right in front of us, crossing our path, was a fully grown, female,albino lechwe!
